Community come together to stay optimistic during Lockdown

Lock down has had a great deal of impact on communities far and wide. Through the power of Music, Arts, and Community, Community Objectives CIC brought together over 100+ artists, businesses, organisations of from the third sector and residents of the Local Warrington area to celebrate the innovativeness and creativity of our community in overcoming the pressures of COVID19.

#Seasonswillpass is a non-profit rendition of Seasons of Love from the Hit Musical RENT!

Government Guidance has put a stop in the works to many Arts and Events organisations across the country, and with the sight of theatre seeming more in the distance than ever, organisations have turned to online adaption simply to 'make ends meat' and continue to produce what they do best.

Over 100+ people took part in creating the video from providing visual aids such as videos and photographs from their lockdown journey to providing singing and backing vocals for the video to be produced. A huge well done has to be given to the community for showing their spirit in collating this material.

Creative Director Jake Liken suggested "This is only the start of what theatre can do. Seeing everybody spend 2 minutes recording their vocals and forget about the pandemic is so enlightening but the amount of messages I have had, saying they have felt optimistic or happier because of this have been overwhelming. We did this as a moment for people to just enjoy and raise that community spirit we had just before lockdown. There is so much in store for our communities and how theatre will adapt and bring new innovative ways of working to the table. I am excited and I think everybody else should be too".

Community Objectives CIC have since publishing the song on Facebook and Youtube, seen people hashtag #SeasonsWillPass photographs of the coined hand symbol for Love in ASL, and even change their profile pictures online to it also.

Community Objectives CIC have a fund available for anybody who wishes to support Community Objectives CIC through this time. All money donated will ensure that they are able to continue their work in our Warrington Community. As the providers of the first ever Light Up Latchford event back in December in partnership with Latch Ford Big Local, Community Objectives CIC hopes to remain able to bring it back this year bigger and better than ever.
